Grant Cole Realtors BBB Business Review
Welcome to Bedford!

Enjoy the Serenity of Bedford
Bedford is located 15 miles northwest of Boston and is bordered by Billerica, Burlington, Carlisle, Concord, Lexington and Lincoln.

The town was founded in 1729, and has retained both natural and architectural beauty. Visitors to Bedford find an attractive historic district and town common in the center.

Like several towns bordering 128, Bedford has seen an influx of high-tech companies and residents in recent decades while being able to maintain some of its sleepy charm. Bedford has a relatively new housing stock, with a median construction year of 1966, compared to a Massachusetts average of 1951. Styles run the gamut, from older farmhouses and larger capes, to new contemporaries, some of the big box type.

Huckins Farm

Newer condominiums can cost as much as houses in other towns, but then again, many are in handsome home-style structures or town houses instead of more conventional multistory, multifamily buildings.

Bedford has a small but thriving Bedford Center Shops
commercial district so residents can shop and dine without leaving town. In recent years upscale restaurants, as well as a Whole Foods Supermarket, have located in Bedford. Bedford’s has a terrific school system along with superb recreational offerings.

Bedford Public Library

The Public Library serves everyone and has active children's programs. A senior center, open daily, offers health and leisure services. An in-town minibus service runs weekdays.

There are recreation programs for all ages, including after-school daycare, and summer day camp. Outdoor facilities include a swimming pond, a lake for boating, The Minuteman Bike Trail to Cambridge, and walking trails through conservation lands.

Middlesex Community CollegeThe Town of Bedford is home to a mix of business and industry, which with Middlesex Community College, a veteran's hospital and Hanscom Air Base, employ some 23,000 people. The unique quality within Bedford is its community spirit. With diverse ethnic, religious and special interest groups, Bedfordites make a conscious effort to be inclusive.
